The Maine Outdoor Wellness Center in Turner and Leavitt hosted its first ever Nordic race at the Center with seven schools participating on Wednesday. Edward Little’s Ellis Slover and Leavitt’s Jaidyn Negley were victorious in the inaugural Nordic ski race at the MOWC in Turner on Wednesday. Slover clocked in with a winning time of 16:02.4, well ahead of teammate Benjamin Condit (17:34.2) to set the initial record time on the course. Negley’s record-establishing pace (20:32.6) easily put her ahead of runner-up Sadie Skinner of Mt. Ararat (21:54.8). Edward Little won the boys competition and Maranacok won the girls competition.
