Although many have put away their skis for the season, Starks still has an extraordinary amount of snow on the trails in Fryeburg – over 2’ of pack still on the course with close to 20” of fresh in the past 4 days. Starks will hold a first-ever race in April.  It is not often you can cross-train for spring sports by skiing!  Looking at the current forecast the best date appears to be this Sunday.

Details: Sunday, April 9 2017, 4.5k Skate race (course is designed to be short for those that haven’t been skiing, but still good climbs) If you want to race more you can get another bib and do it again.

10:30am start, :15 Interval start.  The event is free, but we are asking for a $5.00 donation when you pick-up your bib.

We have set-up registration on SkiReg until Saturday at midnighthttps://www.skireg.com/4343  We will accept day-of entries, but PLEASE pre-register to give us an idea of numbers.  The start list will be the order of pre-entries followed by day-of entries.  (snow will be fastest earlier).  Grooming will be with our Pisten Bully as best as the temps will allow.  Course map and general information for Stark’s are attached.  This is meant to be a fun and relaxed event.  There won’t be any awards but we will separate results as warranted based on standard race age categories.  Don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions.  The race is open to everyone so please pass on this info to anyone you think would be interested.
