Our next spotlight is Connor Jackson of Edward Little.  He won the Class A Giant Slalom and also helped his team win the KVAC Alpine title.  We asked him about his results, his plans for next year, and more.

1) What were your preparations leading up to the state meet ?  I trained everyday and on the weekends I did the Mount Abrams program and trained with them as well as with my team.

2) How did you deal with the pressure and emotions that come along with competing in a state meet?  I felt like I didn't really have any pressure because I wasn't expected to win and I didn't expect to win, I just went out and skied my hardest.

3)What was going through your mind at the starting gate knowing about the conditions and knowing that you could win?  Nothing was really going through my mind except to have fun and lay down a solid run because I knew I had to score for the team but I didn't know I could win so I didn't have that much pressure.

4)You were the class A GS state champion and your team won KVACs, what do you contribute the success to?  Just a great group of guys working their hardest to push each other to do better.

5) What are some of your best memories from the past season?  Just being with friends having fun while working hard just enjoying skiing.

6)What are your plans/goals for next year?  Ski isn't a priority as far as my education goes.  I'm just planning to go to college and see where it takes me.

7)What are your favorite things about alpine?  My favorite thing about alpine is the feeling of speed while you go down because when you finish and you just know it was a good run because everything just felt fast.

8)Is there anything else that you would like to add?  Every year my best race was at the state meets so I guess my main focus was to ski better at that race than I ever had.
