We will now spotlight state champion Logan Ouellette of Leavitt.   Logan was the 2022 MPA Class B Classical and Pursuit state champion.  We asked himlogan ouellette classical about his feelings at the start line and his season goals.

1) What were your preparations leading up to the state meet?  In preparation for the ski meet it was mostly thinking about the competition and working on form and technique for the meet.

2)  How did you deal with the pressure and emotions that come along with competing in a state meet?   I mostly coped with the pressures and emotions when it came to competing in the state meet, I talked with coaches, and other competitors about what they were doing or what I should be doing. I also distracted myself with my team and music to calm down and enjoy the moments leading up to the state meet.
3) What was going through your mind at the start knowing that the snow conditions were challenging?  I was definitely nervous when I had seen the conditions and knew they were going to be challenging, although a good challenge has never held me back and I knew that I could work hard, so that's what I did through the two races.
4)  What are some of your best memories from ski racing this past season?  I think some of the best memories from racing this season was being able to compete with others and talk to them before and after races, this also includes seeing my teammates growing through the season and seeing them succeed and reach their goals.
5)  What were your goals for this season and did you achieve them?  What led to all of your success?  The goal for this season was to win states and work towards skiing in Easterns. Both of these I achieved through hard work and long hours of working on technique and strength to bring out everything of course, I think working on the technique every chance that I got and learning from coaches and others really helped through the process to those goals.
6) Anything else that you would like to add?  I'm ready to come back next year and see the competition grow and do it all over again. I also would like to add to those in the future that you should enjoy the sport before you enjoy the success, through some parts of this season there were different things pushing me but the big two were enjoying the sport and the other was enjoying the success. You shouldn't do the sport just for the success or you won't be able to find success. Enjoy what you are doing and you will be successful.
