Our next state champion spotlight is Luke Streinz of Southern Aroostook.  Luke won the 2022 MPA Class C Freestyle at Black Mtn.  Luke also won theLuke 1 Aroostook County Championships.  We asked him about his preparations and best memories.

1) What were your preparations leading up to the state meet?  I skied a lot and raced local hs meets.

 2) How did you deal with the pressure and emotions that come along with competing in a state meet? I didn't feel a lot of pressure. 
 
3) What was going through your mind at the start knowing that the snow conditions were challenging?  I wanted to avoid the gray ice. 
 
4) What are some of your best memories from ski racing this past season?    winning qualifier skate race at Sugarloaf.
  
5) What were your goals for this season and did you achieve them?  What led to all of your success?  make JNs, and win Acadia marathon but after an injury in the fall I knew JNs wasn't possible. Acadia marathon hasn't happened yet. Years of training for cross country skiing.
 
6) Anything else that you would like to add?  I appreciate the work Cliff Urquhart did for me to be able to race for SACS at states.
