The 2025 KVAC Alpine Championships concluded today with the slalom competition at Titcomb Mtn in Farmington. In the girls slalom, Sophie Simard of Leavitt is the 2025 KVAC Slalom champion. Her winning combined time was 1:19.41. In second place was Ellie Porter of Edward Little with a combined time of 1:20.51. Rounding out the podium in third place was Gianna Devivo of Oxford Hills with a combined time of 1:23.78. In the boys slalom, Landon Marquis of Camden Hills is the 2025 KVAC Slalom champion. His winnig combined time was 1:15.36. In second place was Kaden Salsbury of Skowhegan with a combined time of 1:17.36. Rounding out the podium in third place was Sawyer Shanaman of Edward Little with a combined time of 1:17.42. The Camden Hills girls and the Edward Little boys are the 2025 KVAC Alpine team champions. The 2025 Aroostook County Alpine Championships took place today at Big Rock with the giant slalom and slalom competitions. In the girls giant slalom, Kamryn Martin of Fort Kent won the Aroostook GS with a winning combined time of 1:46.50. In the boys giant slalom, Fletcher Marquis of Fort Kent won the Aroostook GS with a winning combined time of 1:40.18. In the boys slalom, Edison Sleeper of Caribou won the Aroostook Slalom with a winning combined time of 1:20.00. In the girls slalom, Kamryn Martin of Fort Kent also won the Arostook slalom with a winning combined time of 1:29.47. The Fort Kent boys and girls are the 2025 Arostook Alpine team champions. RESULTS
The 2025 WMC Nordic Championships concluded today with the freestyle pursuit competition at Stark's Hill in Fryeburg. In the boys freestyle, Tait Harvey of Greely is the 2025 WMC Freestyle champion. His winning time was 14:06.5. In second place was Alexander Gordon of Yarmouth with a time of 14:17.9. Rounding out the podium in third place was Owen Dawson of Freeport with a time of 14:35.4. In the girls freestyle, Rowan Barry of Greely is the 2025 WMC Freestyle champion. Her winning time was 16:46.0. In second place was Reed Proscia of Freeport with a time of 16:57.6. Rounding out the podium in third place was Lucy Huggett of Freeport with a time of 16:58.1. The Yarmough boys and the Freeport girls are the 2025 WMC Nordic team champions. RESULTS
Coaches; We would like to try to once again organize a race at the Orono Caribou Bog Center after state meets. Given that the last state meet race is February 18, and the next organized race for U18 Eastern High Schools is March 13 (March 6 for U-16), we thought that offering a race on March 1st would keep our athletes in shape for the upcoming inter-state competition.
