The Maranacook boys and Yarmouth girls take the lead after day 1
Day 1 of the MPA Class B Alpine State Meet was held today at Black Mtn. with the giant slalom competition. Nick Newman of Mtn. Valley is the 2017 Class B Giant Slalom State Champion. Nathan Delmar of Maranacook and John Watt of Greenville were 2nd and 3rd. Shellby Cowin of Greenville is the 2017 Class B Giant Slalom State Champion for the girls. Also in the top three were Margaret Elder of Yarmouth (2nd) and Rachel Tooth of Maranacook (3rd). The Maranacook boys take the lead after day 1 in the Class B Alpine with 50 points. Fort Kent boys are currently in 2nd place with 52 points and Mountain Valley boys are in 3rd with 59 points after day 1. The Yarmouth girls take the lead after day 1 in Class B girls Alpine with 33 points. The Maranacook girls are in 2nd place with 52 points and Fort Kent girls are in 3rd place with 54 points.
