The Fort Kent girls and the Fort Kent boys lead after day 1 in the MPA Class B Alpine State Championships. Alisha Guimond of Fort Kent and Joey Guimond also of Fort Kent are the 2016 Class B Slalom state champions. Alisha had a combined time of 1:41.08 and Joey's time was 1:30.77 on a icy Black Mtn. Allison Acratelli of Spruce Mtn and Janika Pakulski of Maranacook finished 2nd and 3rd respectfully. Nick Newman of Mtn Valley and Austin Plourde of Fort Kent were 2nd and 3rd respectfully in the boys race. The competition concludes with the giant slalom on Thursday.
