This is a formal invitation to all to a road race in Bethel on July 18th, MollyOckett Day Classic. There are 3 distances to chose from a 5 mile running race, 2 mile walk or 1 mile kids race (age 14 and under). The 1 mile race begins at 8:15 AM and the 5 mile and 2 mile events begin at 9:00 AM. Registration is from 7-8:45 AM. A reduced fee is being offered to teams and camps who bring 5 or more participants. The 5 and 2 mile events are $12 and the 1 mile is $8. The fun doesn’t end with the race.They are followed by a parade, music, food and arts and crafts. It includes Kid’s Fun Zone with a Wildlife Station, Archery and Nature Arts and a Gem Sluice ($8 for a bag of Maine minerals, $5 for overseas minerals) and other events on the Common and Main Street in Bethel.
