The MPA membership voted on several changes for high school skiing. All of the changes will go into effect in the 2015-16 school year. Here is a summary:
1. There will no longer be an overall state ski championship. Instead, there will be state championships in both Nordic and alpine skiing.
2. The MPA sponsored skimeister competition has been eliminated.
3. Alpine skiing will now have two classes, A and B
4. Nordic skiing will continue to have three classes, A, B, and C
5. New Alpine cutoffs are:
Class A: 500+
Class B: 0-499
6. New Nordic cutoffs are:
Class A: 600+
Class B: 400-599
Class C: 0-399
