3/2 Update: Vaccination is NOT required to race Saturday at the Selection Race but IS required to attend the U16/EHSC events except for medical exemptions by a doctor. If you aren’t vaccinated just upload a picture saying you aren’t vaccinated.
   EHSC cost will be $190.00  per athlete. Bring a check made out to Maine Nordic. Jackets are $110, check to Maine Nordic. U16 trip cost will be posted shortly. Athletes must register by Wednesday to be entered and confirm they will attend the Nensa races when we announce the teams shortly after the races finish.

The Selection Race to name the Maine Nordic U16 and EHSC teams will be held Saturday 3/5 at the SOC. The race is run under the attached rules. Entry fee for the race is $22.00 payable to the SOC. Athletes do NOT have to be a Nensa member to race in the Selection Race but must become one to race at the U16 and EHSC races.

   Athletes must register via the online registration form, including documentation of vaccination status. 
     The top 24 female and male athletes in both age groups will be named to the Maine teams. We will also name 10 alternates. Once named all athletes (including alternates) must make a non refundable deposit to secure their spot on the team. An athlete who tests positive for Covid after the Selection Race will receive a full refund. We do have three athletes who are automatics to the EHSC team and also some others who won the Pursuit races at States or the County championships so final team slots will be posted at registration. Any automatic MUST register for the Selection Race  and notify Buzz Bean by 3/4/22 in order to hold their spot on the team. 
   U16s are athletes who were 14&15 by December 31 of 2021. They may be 8th graders. EHSC athletes must be enrolled in high school, either in Maine or out of state as long as they are Maine residents. They may not be 8th graders. U16 athletes must also be Maine residents. U16s may also attend EHSCs if they qualify in the top 24 overall.
   Final details including costs for both trips will be posted soon. The Nensa U16 Championships will be held 3/12-13 at Jackson NH. A bus will be leaving Gould the morning of 3/12 and the team will be staying together. EHSC will be held 3/19-20 at Titcomb Mountain. Athletes must provide their own accommodations and transportation to the EHSC events. 
   An All Star cast of coaches will be providing smokin’ fast skis so be psyched for the best races of the year! 
   Maine Nordic Team jackets will also be available for purchase to named athletes. Checks for $110.00 should be made out to Maine Nordic for jackets.

    Team naming and registration will follow as soon as possible. County athletes will be registered first to allow them to get started home.
