State Champion Spotlight-AJ Noyes

Our next state champion spotlight is AJ Noyes of Falmouth.  AJ won the 2020 Class A Slalom and Giant Slalom state titles.  His team also won the Class AJAlpine state title.  We asked him about his success and his favorite moment of the season.

1) What were your preparations leading up to the state meet?  I didn't, preparing for a race doesn't really help me all that much because then I start overthinking things, I just treated it like any other race.

2)  How did you deal with the pressure and emotions that come along with competing in a state meet?  I just reminded myself that I ski raced because I enjoyed it, so regardless of the outcome, I was gonna have a good time.
3) What was going through your mind at the starting gate?  Absolutely nothing.
4)It was a cold day of racing, how did you cope with the temperatures and conditions?   I'm from Maine.
5)  You won both Slalom and GS plus other races this season, what do you contribute your success to?   Great coaches

6) As a junior,  what are your goals for next year?    Defend the team title (5-peat)
7)  What surprised you the most about this season?  I was surprised no one tried to falsely DQ
 me at shawnee again.
8)  What moment/event will you remember the most from the season?  Tip playing laser tag
