January 15, 2024: It was a beautiful bluebird sky day and another great race day for Jaden Boulanger,as she won her second race of the season at Black Mountain. The Mountain Valley senior won the women's Giant Slalom race with times of 37.40 and 36.79 for a combined time of 1:14.19. Rangeley's standout Breezy Quimby came in second with runs of 38.08 and 37.10 for a 1:15.18 combined score. Third place with to Gianna DeVivo of Oxford Hills. She had runs of 39.02 and 37.69 for a combined time of 1:16.71.
John Bapst's Ella Brochu came in fourth with a combined time of1:18.36, with Shelby Therialt of Fort Kent only .02 second behind her combined time to take fifth. Tying for sixth place with combined times of 1:18.43 were Mt. Blue's Abbey Goodspeed and Freeport's Rosie St. Cyr.
In the men's GS, Kaden Therialut of Fort Kent took the top honors. The Warrior had runs of 36.05 and 33.97 for a combined time of 1:10.02 in capturing the gold. Maranacook's Thatcher finished second with times of 36.77 and 35.98 for a combined score of 1:12.75. Taking the final podium position was another Fort Kent skier, Max Bois, who had a combined score of 1:13.50 on runs of 37.61 and 35.89.
Skowhegan's Asa Stroman took fourth place with a 1:15.36 combined time. Another Fort Kent skier, Fletcher Marquis, came in fifth with a 1:16.27 combined score. Rounding out the top six was Tristin Riley of Maranacook (1:16.62) RACE PHOTOS | RESULTS
