We will now spotlight Logan MacLeod of Yarmouth.  Logan was the 2025 Class B Slalom and Giant Slalom state champion.  She also wonLogan the WMC Slalom title.  We asked her about her successes and what she likes the most about Alpine:

1) What were your preparations leading up to the state meet?
I tried to think back on skills i’ve needed to work on throughout the season and focus on those during training but mostly I just tuned up my skis and put my best foot forward.
2) How did you deal with the pressure and emotions that come along with competing in a state meet?
It was definitely nerve wracking especially because of my recent DNF’s, but I continued to tell myself that the previous races didn’t matter and to just focus on finishing.
3) What was going through your mind at the start?
The start gate is always where I get in my head the most but I tried to stop all the negative thoughts and focus on the finish line.
4)  What do you contribute your success to?  Sharpened and waxed skis really never hurt and I have my dad to thank for that. But the endless support from my coaches and teammates on and off the hill is what keeps me motivated throughout the season.
5)  What are your goals/plans for next year?  I hope to replicate what we accomplished as a team this season as well as continuing to develop our skills and come back even better!
6) What surprised you the most about this season?
I think my results this season compared to last year surprised me a lot especially with the state title. I would have never expected to stand at the top of the podium last year but I came into this season with a new mindset and I believe that is what contributed most to my results this year.
 7) What moment/event will you remember the most from the season? Standing at the bottom of the course and cheering on all my teammates at states this year is a really special memory. As each of us crossed the finish line our cheers and confidence grew and thinking about that makes me so thankful for the friendships this team has given me.
8) What do you like most about Alpine Skiing?   I’ve loved racing since I was a little kid and skiing has always been my favorite sport. I love the atmosphere at races and the adrenaline rush you get as you pass by each gate. Racing has brought me so many opportunities and friendships and It will always hold a special place in my heart.
