A KVAC Slalom race was held on Friday, January 12th at Lost Valley in Auburn. In the girls side, Sophie Simard of Leavitt was the winner with a combined time of 1:08.84. Anya Egge of Edward Little was second with a time of 1:09.73 and Kaelyn Langlois of Freeport was third with a time of 1:11.50. John Bapst won the girls team with EL in second and Maranacook third. On the boys side, Thatcher Riley of Maranacook was the winner with a combined time of 1:01.65. Evan O'Donnell of Edward Little was second with a time of 1:01.72 and Ethan Levesque also of EL was third with a time of 1:05.22. Nordic ski race was held today at Quarry Road Trails in Waterville. It was 3 laps of the 1.8K manmade snow loop. Nora McCourt of Mt. Blue posed the fastest time for high school girls with a 16:20.7. Clara White of Orono was second and Maya Kellet of Mt. Blue was third. Teo Steverlynck-Horne of Freeport had the fastest time for high school boys with a 14:04.8. Henri McCourt of Mt. Blue was second and Wyatt Stevenson of Maranacook was third.Jaden Boulanger, the defending Maine Class B State Slalom Champion from Mountain Valley, was victorious in the opening slalom ski race
at Black Mountain of Maine on Friday. Boulanger had runs of 58.00 and 1:00.23 for a combined time of 1:58.23. Ruby Dwyer of John Bapst High School, came in second with a combined time of 2:01.74. Maranacook's Phoebe Bell took third with a combined score of 2:02.19.In the boys race, Thatcher Riley of Maranacook High School took the gold with times of 52.17 and 54.05 for a total of 1:46.22. Second place went to Edward Little's Ethan Levesque with a combined time of 1:54.57, while Riley's teammate Tristin Riley came in third with a combined time of 1:55.33.
