A Clean Sweep for Gould Academy's Nordic and Alpine Teams
The Gould Academy boys' and girls' Nordic and Alpine teams have won the 2010
New England Private School Athletic Conference (NEPSAC) Championships.
Gould Academy played host to the boys' and girls' Nordic NEPSAC Championships
on Wednesday, February 17. Both girl's and boy's teams placed first in the 7K
Classic Race and the 4x3k Relay to take the title in a large field of schools
that included Andover, Proctor, Holderness, and St. Paul's School.
Individually, Gould's relay team of Marguerite Wiser, Alice Hotopp,
Samantha Southam and Molly Siegel took first place in
the 4x3K followed by teams from Holderness and St. Pauls
School in New Hampshire.
In the 7K Classic, Gould's Molly Siegel placed second followed by Samantha Southam and Alice Hotopp in fifth
and sixth place respectively.
For the boys' Andrew Nesbitt placed second in the 7K Classic followed by Jeb
Clarke in fourth and Peter Cowan in fifth. The relay team of Jeb Clarke, Andrew
Nesbitt, Kyle Curry and Peter Cowan took first place followed by St. Paul's
School and Holderness.

Alpine
At the NEPSAC Alpine Championships held in Claremont, MA on February 10,
Gould's boys' and girls' Alpine team took first for the second year in row. The
field of 15 schools for the boys and ten for the girls included teams from
Holderness, Proctor Academy, Kimball Union, Deerfield and Northfield Mt. Hermon.
In the girls' slalom and giant slalom Annebelle Hicks
and Meghan Costello took the top two spots respectively.
In the boys' slalom Matt Perejda took second place
with Eddie Mele taking fourth. In the giant slalom Perejda took first while Mele
took fifth.
